As I mentioned in one of my earlier posts, as of last fall I’ve been enjoying having a modern camera (a Sony Nex5N). It had gotten to the point that my phone took better photos than my actual point-and-shoot digital camera…which was fine for snapshots, but it was disappointing going to really beautiful places, taking lots of photos with my phone, and then seeing them turn out fairly mediocre. And I’d forgotten how satisfying it was to actually be able to control what I was taking. Especially given how many aperture, shutter speed, and ISO settings you can fool around with in curent cameras.

The combination of a nice camera and photo editing software has led to some very satisfying photos–although it helps to go to pretty places! (Also, I have slowly moved from Photoshop, to Adobe Lightroom, to the new iPhoto for iPad to edit my photos. The iPad version of iPhoto has become by far my favorite, and easiest to use, editing software).

I’ve now put selected photos in a new Photos page on this website. You can also check out a random collection of some of my favorites below (just click on any image to see it bigger, and reload the page to get a different set of random pics.)
