Ok, this is pretty awesome…Popular Science has put their entire archives online, and it’s all searchable…all 137 years of PopSci in one place.

They’re apparently working on a way to browse it, which would be sweet just to see all the covers, but I had a lot of fun just checking out what was considered futuristic in the late 1800s and early 1900s – and you can see a clear evolution through the 20th century as well, in terms of what the magazine chose to focus on. Definitely worth checking out 🙂

Predictably, people have already been through and found topics and cover stories of interest: Here’s Jalopnik‘s efforts to find every mention of anything that’s remotely like a flying car in the archives, a fun read.
